J. holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Central Florida, a J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University and is admitted to practice law in the state of Florida.
J. John Barker is the former General Counsel and Sr. Vice President of Administration of a publicly traded telecommunications site development and construction company. “J.” began his legal career in the private sector including positions as a partner in the private practice of law and as Associate General Counsel for a large communication tower company. He has since gained over 15 years of executive legal experience in telecommunications, construction, site development, employee safety and corporate general matters. Throughout the course of his career, J. has developed a working knowledge and been responsible for risk management, employee safety, business insurance, facilities management, human resources and employee benefits programs.
J. has experience with all aspects of commercial risk management claims, corporate insurance, negotiation, drafting of legal contracts, selection and management of
experience, he has developed an in-depth business knowledge and maintains strategic relationships with key industry executives. Duane has served in executive and consulting capacities for publicly traded telecommunication tower owners, major wireless and broadcast engineering, manufacturing and deployment
services companies, leading providers of broadband fiber optic networks and has been actively involved in a number of industry safety improvement initiatives.
Earlier in his career Duane developed and oversaw safety, environmental remediation and workers’ compensation programs as Director of Safety and Loss Control for the NC Department of Transportation. Duane was also appointed as a Commissioner on both the NC Radiation Protection and NC State Emergency Response Commissions. Before then, he was an engineer at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Duane earned a B.S. in Engineering Technology from the University of Central Florida (Summa Cum Laude), an M.B.A. from the Florida Institute of Technology, a J.D. from North Carolina Central University (Summa Cum Laude) and is admitted to practice law in the state of North Carolina.
Duane C. MacEntee serves as a trusted advisor to clients with respect to commercial and industrial compliance, transactional due diligence and business risk mitigation.
